Delievering and carrying out a customs clearance of a huge 40-ton STC350T truck crane from China to Ukraine in no more than 40 days.

At first, this order puzzled us a little, since there are several delivery options for large-sized equipment, depending on the timing - and here a minimum transit time was required. It was necessary to transport a 40-ton STC350T truck crane from China to Ukraine. Such cargo falls into the category of oversized cargo. None of the container types used in international Maritime transport were suitable for transporting this special equipment. But we were confident that we could do it.

Solution

This was not our first experience in transporting such large-sized special-purpose equipment as a truck crane. It had weight of more than 40 tons, and large dimensions.

Of course, there were no containers that would accommodate such a large equipment in the list of sea containers. We had to look for a non-standard solution. Moreover, we needed it to be quick, because the customer asked to complete the work as soon as possible.

We’ve invited our Chinese agent for special cargos to solve the problem as well. We’ve discussed all the main parameters with him, thought everything through to the smallest details, and came to the conclusion that the best option for the client would be to deliver a truck crane to the port of Ukraine in a ‘turnkey’ manner.

It was the fastest, easiest, most reliable and cost-effective way to transfer a 40-ton truck crane from China to Ukraine. Based on the information received, our logistics center has planned a suitable route and departure. The customer received their crane from hand to hand within the agreed time frame.

It was a non-standard task indeed. It became a serious test due to the fact that our client was obliged to deliver the crane to his customer as part of the tender and the delay was unacceptable. It is a transport for sea cargo transportation, for cargos equipped with a wheelbase. Our truck crane reached the port of departure in China by itself and laoded on board of the ship. There, it was safely secured in accordance with the norms and requirements for such a category of cargo as a special equipment.

While the equipment was on the way, we’ve prepared a package of documents that was needed for customs clearance. Thanks to this decision, the broker managed to clear the crane directly in the port in a few hours, and we handed the equipment along with the documents to our client in Kiev.

At his request, before sending from China, we’ve insured the cargo, but, fortunately, it turned out to be an unnecessary precaution – the truck crane arrived in Ukraine safe and sound, without a single scratch.
